Perkasa's call redundant'

Thursday, December 30th, 2010 13:18:00

PETALING JAYA: Lawmakers are at odds with a proposal by Perkasa for the government to form a Pemandu-style special unit under the Prime Minister’s Department to protect Bumiputeras interests.

The 'Bumiputera Pemandu' would support the role played by the Bumiputera Agenda Supreme Council as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak during the Umno General Assembly two months ago, said Perkasa economic bureau chief Dr Zubir Harun, describing Pemandu to be effective but lacking a Bumiputera agenda.

MINISTER IN THE PRIME MINISTER'S DEPARTMENT, UMNO INFORMATION CHIEF AND PONTIAN MP DATUK AHMAD MASLAN:
“Anything the government does is for all Malaysians and also for the Malay community since two-thirds of the population are Bumiputeras. While non-bumiputeras are holding the economic power, we never push them aside. They are able to conduct businesses with no constraint and to seek a better life. At the moment, it’s important for Bumiputeras to learn from the Chinese on how to run businesses effectively and learn willpower from the Indian friends. The 1Malaysia spirit must also be instilled in this sense. I feel the suggestion by Perkasa is redundant.”

The 'Future is in your hand, hold it gently'

A budding poet trying his best...

Here I lie in stinky vapor, Because some idiot stole the toilet paper,
Shall I lie, or shall I linger, Or shall I be forced to use my finger.

Before he graduated to be a poet, he wrote this...

Here I sit, Broken hearted
Tried to shit, But only farted

Someone who had a different experience wrote,

You're lucky, You had your chance,
I tried to fart, And shit my pants!

Perhaps it's true that people find inspiration in toilets.

I came here, To shit and stink,
But all I do, Is sit and think.

There are also people who come in for a different purpose...

Some come here to sit and think, Some come here to shit and stink,
But I comehere to scratch my balls, And read the bullshit on the walls....

Toilets walls also double as job advertisement space...written high upon the wall)

If you can piss above this line, the Singapore Fire Department wants you.

Ministry of Environment advertisement.

We aim to please! You aim too! Please

On the inside of a toilet door:

Patrons are requested to remain seated throughout the entire performance.

And finally, this should teach some a lesson...Sign seen at a restaurant:

The hands that clean these toilets also make your food...please aim properly!

Tokonang Den (12) - Warkah 1

Abah,

Terlebih dahulu anakanda mohon maaf kerana lambat mengirim berita.

Namanya Bustamam bin Mahmud. Yang lain anakanda belum lagi kenal, belum berani nak tegur. Perlahan-lahan lah kot, lama lagi akan berada disini. Alah, baru hari keempat!

Anakanda dan anak cikgu Siraj dimasukkan kedalam kelas Remove B. Omar masuk kelas Remove A. Kelas kami tidaklah jauh sangat daripada asrama. Alah, dah biasa! Di Seremban lagi jauh berjalan kaki kesekolah berbanding disini. Anakanda kesekolah berlenggang Mak Limah je!. Buku-buku semuanya simpan dikelas dan tak perlu dibawa balik! Anakanda cuak lah abah. Takut. Budak-budak lain nampak pandai-pandai belaka. Walau bagaimanapun kelas belum lagi bermula.

Anakanda agak mesti dia ni anak bongsu! manja betul!. Puas kita orang pujuk.

Kalau abah perasan, disekolah ni, semua pakai loceng!. Hendak ke kelas dibunyikan loceng. Nak makan dibunyikan loceng, nak masuk dewan makan pun pakai loceng.

Rasanya cukup kerana anakanda hanya pakai buat belanja rehat sebanyak 20 sen sehari. Kunci almari tu nanti anakanda akan usaha dapatkan.

Anakanda terpaksa berhenti sekarang. Waktu prep dah nak habis.

Beritahu ayai supaya jaga raket badminton tu baik-baik. Jangan gesek kat lantai.

The Mayonnaise Jar

Would like to share this article - sent by Rahim Ahmadi - via email. Many thanks to Rahim for sharing ...

When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table
and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively
filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions –
Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled..
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

Please share this with other "Golf Balls"
I just did.......

Take 5

I evaluate buildings like I do women. There are buildings I won't mind for a one-night stand and never return to again, and then there are buildings I'd like to marry. The mistress-type buildings are the superficial ones you like to keep on the side, if you have the money. But my favourite are the old, comfortable government houses in Bukit Tunku. Reminds me of my mother.

Happy Father's Day

We had to sit for the special exam then to win a place and study in a boarding school. When the results were eventually out, and I was among the successful candidates, my father called and asked me which one would I choose - to go to Tanjung Malim or Ipoh. Since my Geography was not good at that time (never was), I asked him where about these places were. I remembered my father telling me all about Tanjung Malim - the shops where he used to frequent as a student (he studied at Sultan Idris Training College (now Universiti Perguruan Sultan Idris). And he told me that Ipoh was the capital town of Perak and it was slightly further up north. Okay, I told him, I made up my mind., it was Ipoh then - Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Ipoh and not sekolah Dato Abdul Razak, in Tanjung Malim. My father had this 'connection' in Seremban (present terminolgy - networking' lah!) and told me that he could fixed and sent me to whichever school that I chose.

Together with Ajoi and his father, we rented a cab and made our way to Ipoh. Of course both my father and Ajoi's insisted on stopping over and had our break and lunch in Tanjung Malim - the then R&R!!. And of course, lunch was to be followed with that special Tanjung Malim's dessert - kueh pau!!.

It was the longest journey and the first time ever that I shared with my father. When it was time for him to leave for home, deep inside I konow that he had made the right decission of sending me over to Ipoh.

Abah is no longer around. He died in 1998. I am a father now. And I hope that I will make the right decission on my children's future just as my father did.

To all you guys out there..., Happy Father's Day!.
