Wedding Reception

Just came back from Shah Alam having attended Nari's wedding reception together with Rostam. By the time we arrived at Dewan Melati, Section 7, Shah Alam where the reception was held, we were told by the groom's father that Aminuddin AHK (Dr.) and wife, and Lookeman as well as Ismail Ibrahim already left. Me and Rostam waited for a while for the rest to come (hoping) and we had only Omar Suhaimi and spouse joining us for the wedding feast. We were later joined by Md Ali Osman and wife together with their son and daughter. Towards the end Idros and family came. We were about to leave when we heard Nari's giving instruction/direction to Rashid. We had to leave as the time was already past 3 oclock.

Nari looked happy and busy the whole afternoon - as expected. Next week, there shall be another reception and another one the next after. First by Yyuri and to be followed by Shoib. When told about the reception, Md Ali seemed to have lost touch or rather forgetten about Shoib. Well, during our time in Tiger Lane, there were only two Shoibs -one was 'Shoib' the dobbyman and the other one was our very own Shoib, one of the three members from the famous Sungei Petani trio - we had arwah Radhi Majid and Sakaff Abdul Manaf and of course Shoib Ismail. And the three of them were even being placed inthe same hostel - 'Green House!'. Hoping to see more of us (Batch 73) at Yyuri's and Shoib's. InsyaAllah.

I have not seen both of them (Yyuri and Shoib) for a very very long time. I happened to see Yyuri once in 1990 when we attending a seminar in housing at DBKL. Accidentally met Shoib at the Central Market. 4 years ago .Thus, truly looking forward for the occassion.

  1. son of dula...you need to exercise a little bit of care....your opening para stated that it was Nari's wedding reception but in fact it was the wedding of Nari's SON!!!!... note that Nari has already sent us an e-mail to-day (8/12/09)to say that in all his excitement in meeting old friends he has totally forgotten to snap a picture with any of us who had turned up at Dewan Melati...looking forward to seeing you guys at the forthcoming khenduris (Yyuri's and Suib's).

  4. Dear All,

Shuib Dobi used to wash our underwears and all with that river water that flows thru Tambun. With the present pollution rate i hope he ceases doing that thing nomore. In Penang near Dhoby Ghatt , that mamak still washes the linen in the river that flows thru Jalan Datuk Keramat i noticed.

  9. Congratulations to Tigers. I watched the game thru'out. They played their guts out especially in the second half but not without some anxious moments from the viets. Well-deserved win by the Malaysia's U-23.

By the way, on Friday (18/12) afternoon I will be playing futsal with my family clans at the futsal centre near Salak Tinggi (on way to KLIA). In the evening we will adjourn to my Mom's house in Kg. Jenderam for our Ma'al Hijrah programme, starting with maghrib berjemaah, tashkirah by the local imam who's my uncle, then barbecue and then carroms & scrabbles (inter-family games. I would like to wish all friends and readers Selamat Maal Hijrah.

See you all at Mutalib Hassan's Kheduri (afternoon) and then at Yyuri's (evening)on Sat 19th.
    TQ. Omasuha.

  11. Dear Omasuha,
The tigers did quite well to beat the Vietkongs but they were lucky.,, very!.The scorer (the Malaysian player) actually missed kick the first time around and he was actually squaring the ball when the viets accidentally blocked the ball and diverted into goal. But it was indeed a much waited victory and hope better things to come for Malaysian soccer.
