Majlis Berbuka Puasa STAROBA

Attended Majlis Berbuka Puasa STAROBA at Dewan Al-Malek Faizal, IIUM Centre For Foundation Studies, PJ last night. Almost missed out attending the iftar though. By the time I called it a day at the office yesterday, the time was already 6.15 pm. After breaking fast and maghrib prayer with family at home, I decided to proceed with my earlier plan and rushed off to PJ for the iftar.

The 2 Rahims - Rahim Othman and Rahim Ahmadi were there, so did Omar Suhaimi, Aziz Harun and of course, Rostam! Met others as well - Dato' Ishak 'Sohor', Dato' Hood Siraj, Syed Nazri, Anuair Jalil, Hj. Ahmad Tauzan, Chot, Mohammad Bahadon, Green Housemates - Kamal, Lan Sulaiman and Hamid, Hamdan (junior - principal partner of law firm - Hisham Sobri & Kadir. Also met Sokhini and Bakhtiar., just to name a few. Quite an attendance - about 130 people - old boys including family members were there to grace the event.

After solat terawih, a tazkirah cum motivation talk was given by STAROBA's very own sahibul samahah - Azlan Abdullah. Together with Omar Suhaimi, Rahim Othman, Hamid (junior), and Rostam, we stayed until almost 11.00 listening to and being serenade by Azlan Abdullah's - telling about 'his story' and his 'Beranang' days!!
Mohammad Bahadon took the opportunity to invite friends and family to his son's wedding day. Invitation card as appended.

  1. I rushed back from KK just to attend the event hoping to meet more of batch 73 there but as usual very few turned up. Apart from names mentioned above, Md Ali Osman was also there.

I also met a guy ( Batch 74 ) who told me he has 4 wives and 23 children. He also gave me a few tips on how to remain strong and managed such a family.

Anyway hope to see more during majlis berbuka puasa to be hosted by Dato Dr Awang Adek on 15 Sept.

  4. Dearest All,

Boyz calm down...speaking of polygamy, u can afford to have 25 children even but some cant even afford to maintain one wife. Point to ponder.

  5. 73 batchers...for Berbuka on 15/9/09 hosted by YB DD Awang Adek, as of noon today, we have already 25 pax confimed coming and two more tentative. I also have a long list of friends who'd wished they could come but for some reasons like logistics problem (S'pore, JB, Ulu Jempol, Lenggong, Mekah, Kota Belud, Batu Pahat, Ipoh ? -eleh Ipoh pun tatak mali?) , work commitments (late afternoon lectures/meetings, outstation, site visits, etc) , coinciding with office functions (TNB, Petronas, KADA,etc) , indispensable (only one - whose wife said he is not coming) are unable to make it his time. For volunteering to solicit attendance, I managed to speak(or exchange sms) with some of our friends whom I have not met for a very long time. They include Ajoi (call), Shuaib Ismail (call), Shukeri Md Zin (calls), Yyuri (sms), Zainuddin Dol (call), etc. I just hope that some who have not replied to my sms's would just spring a surprise by attending. Well, see you guys at Tropicana.....
    OS.

  7. Polygamy is totally out for me. I would prefer just one wife plus a few PAS members.
